Office of Research and Development (ORD)
In pursuit of excellence in the areas of learning, discovery, and engagement, the Office of Research and Development (ORD) is committed to establishing effective partnerships with external sponsors who support research and scholarly activities. In managing these relationships, the NJIT must abide by certain regulations to preserve the integrity of the educational, research and scholarly activities of the school and its employees and students while also ensuring that the objectives of sponsored activities are met. NJIT seeks collaboration with a broad range of sponsors to bring synergistic and diverse opportunities to the school. Here below are five divisions under ORD:

Academic Exchange Division (AED):
Academic Exchange Division handles all the international exchange activities and cooperation programs with our overseas sister universities and colleges. Currently, we have many educational partners across the world-France, USA, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Thailand. We accept exchange students from our international sister schools, and the number is increasing year by year.                           
AED is delighted to assist our current and prospective international students in the following issues:       
(1) helping apply for admission of NJIT                               
(2) providing scholarship information                               
(3) assisting to apply for Visa                                  
(4) other related issues                                     

Moreover, AED is committed to communicating with Chinese colleges, industries as well. We assist Chinese scholars to visit NJIT by applying for permission of Ministry of Education (MOE). Certainly, we are responsible for sending invitations to Chinese scholars.

Academy-Industry Cooperation Division
(I)Responsibilities:
1.Dealing with academy-industry cooperation between NJIT and various industries.
2.Helping integrate all subjects and resource of school and popularize the results of academy-industry  cooperation.
3.Spreading and interchanging with neighborhood industry and setting up real cooperative relationship.
(II) Prospects
Nowadays the government regards academy-industry cooperation as one important policy for national development.
The section will abide by the national policy, effectively   integrate human resources and devices of school technology,
and actively seek more opportunities to cooperate with the industries. Therefore, the idea of vocational education can
be carried out to achieve the goal of making the biggest profit for the school, the industries, and the government.

Alumni Liaison and Job & Career Counseling Center
(I) Responsibilities
1. Help in the development of the school alumni association.
2. File graduate records for further contact and counseling after graduation.
3. Maintain a close relationship with government institutions, local job-seeking service institutions, universities,
and public & private organizations to collect and provide the information about hiring employees, seeking jobs and
going for further studies.
4. Give national exams of skill certification to the members of the community and students at school, and provide the
places for written tests and skill testing.
5. Offer the activities about the job opportunities and career counseling of graduates.
(II) Prospects
1. Strengthen the liaison to the alumni associations and bring alumni together for achieving the aim of the school's
long-standing management.
2.Strengthen the application of the update information on the websites at school about hiring employees,
seeking jobs, studying abroad, and taking the national exams for being public servants, to give career planning,
job opportunities, and other services.

Continuing Education Center
(I)Responsibilities                                      
1.        Provide off-campus job training.                                
2.     Provide educational opportunities that meet the changing needs of the community.             
3.     Cooperate with businesses to set up a further study for their employees.                 
4.     Provide credit and non-credit courses.                              
5.     Provide other supplemental continuing education services.                     

(II) Prospects
1.     Focus on job skill training, continued education and extensive
education. With on-campus places, plentiful facilities, and
professional teachers at school, this center offers various kinds
of training courses to set up a further study  for the members of
the community and meet the changing needs of the community.
2.     Cooperate with professional training centers to provide various
kinds of skill training courses.
3.Provide various kinds of credit courses and  skill inspection
counseling courses according to the changing needs  of  the
school and the community in the future, and set up a further
study for the community's members to correspond with the
idea of "lifelong learning" propagated by the Ministry of Education.

Planning Division
Responsibilities:
1. Issuing the medium & long terms planning of NJIT
2. Holding NJIT planning meeting
3. Examining the operation of the medium & long terms planning
4. Assisting the academic departments to develop their characteristics
5.Managing development subsidies offered by Ministry of Education for vocational colleges
