Words from the President

　　I have been engaged in management and the research on advanced defense technology for more than 34 years, and worked with a professor position for nearly 10 year.  And I transferred my work from the Director position of Chemistry Division of CSIST. to being the president of Nan-Jeon Institute of Technology on October 19, 2007, I am greatly honored to have the opportunity to join the executive team of the school!  Three expectations of my new jobs are as below:  First, I will endeavor to affiliate the faculty and students with my past experience on scientific and technological research, management and leadership to promote Nan Jeon Institute of Technology (with …) to be a vigorous, effective and superior team to usher in a new era and have the ability to challenge the future.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

　　Education is an undertaking of conscience. Instead of tools of study and entering schools of a higher grade, education is a kind of inspiration and enlightenment. Thus, my second expectation: in addition to professional knowledge, faculty should have a heart of forgiveness and mercy; moreover, they should be more patient and kind.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

　　In addition, the faculty is required to have an open mind, correct value judgment, and life experiences.  As a mentor, a teacher enlightens students with love, illuminating the lamp in students' heart like a torch.
The third expectation is that students are the treasure and the future of our school so they should make efforts to learn professional knowledge diligently.  Besides, they should look for self-growth and development in all different aspects, including the interaction of human relationship, the cultivation of group spirit, the self control of emotion, life experiences and the construction of value judgment.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

　　It is my expectation that each of our students, cultivated under the“whole-person education” motto, grows up as a high-quality new generation with great capabilities and sound personalities. Now that I am the householder of this big family-- Nan-Jeon Institute of Technology, I am willing to work dedicatedly and selflessly with all the staff and faculty of this school. It is my hope that with our hard work we are able to say that “Today, we work for the growth and prosperity of Nan-Jeon; tomorrow, Nan-Jeon will be our honor” Finally, I would like to give my best wishes to all of our staff, faculty and students.　　　　　　　　　　　

　　Technical and vocational education is the backbone of our education. The purpose of it is to cultivate intermediate and advanced technical professionals. In the recent years technical and vocational education has prospered under the promotion of our government, which in turn  has brought along the development of our country. To face the great impact brought by joining the World Trade Organization, technical and vocational education in Taiwan should comply with the world trend. That is, we have to train our students to become the technical professionals with international perspectives and world visions, so as to meet the goal of making

　　Taiwan a land for global technology. In view of that, our school has developed the following distinctive features in terms of facility, curriculum and teaching, though the objectives may vary as time changes.　

Our focus is stated as the following:

　　Due to affirmation from the Ministry of Education, our school was upgraded to an institute of technology on 1st, August 2001. Now we keep enriching the facilities in our school to provide students with ideal learning surrounding. To face new challenges in the new century, our goal is to cultivate students with well-formed personalities, profession knowledge, and creativity. Students will be equipped with certificates and excellent both in theory and practice. We welcome the young to study at Nan - Jeon , which promises a bright future for all of them.
